◦ Frequently asked
Questions we're asked often.
Where is Mohini Associates based, and do you work outside Rajasthan?
+Our studio is in Bhilwara, Rajasthan. We work on architecture and interior design projects across India — including Udaipur, Jaipur, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Ahmedabad, Pune and Bengaluru — and travel to site every two to four weeks depending on the project stage.
What kind of projects do you take on?
+Private residences, retail, hospitality, workplace and select institutional work. We are deliberately small, and we take on roughly six to eight new projects each year so we can keep the principal architect involved on every project.
Do you offer interior design only, without architecture?
+Yes. About a third of our work each year is interior design for spaces that have already been built — apartments, restaurants, retail stores and offices. We are happy to take on interior-only briefs.
What is your typical project size and budget?
+Most of our residential projects are between 2,500 and 10,000 sq.ft. We work across budgets but our fee structure assumes a serious commitment to material and finish quality. For an honest conversation about budget fit, please get in touch with a short brief.
How do you structure your fees?
+We charge a percentage of project value for full-service design and execution work, and a fixed fee for consultation engagements. We share a clear fee proposal after the first site visit and brief discussion.
How do we start working with you?
+Get in touch through the contact form with a short note about the project, location and timeline. We respond within two working days and schedule a 30-minute introductory call. If both sides feel the fit is right, we proceed to a site visit and a written proposal.
Who is the principal architect at Mohini Associates?
+The studio was founded by Tanay Kacholiya, an interior architect who leads design on every project we take on.
Do you take on small or one-room projects?
+Occasionally. We take on a small number of one-room or single-space projects each year, usually for repeat clients or where the brief is unusually interesting. Please ask.
